BI Analyst

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure data pipelines that collect, transfer, load and transform critical vendor data into BI data repository / data warehouse from on premise and cloud data sources to prepare, process and organize data for Business Intelligence Analytics (Data readiness)
  • Design and implement high performing BI dashboard integrations that incorporate leading BI & visualization tools for enterprise-wide reporting; enabling timely analysis and competitive edge. (Power BI Reporting)
  • Produce financial, market and customer intelligence b querying data repositories and generating reports. Devis methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available data sources. (Business Analytics)
  • Coach, mentor and guide other junior analysts (teamwork and leadership)

Professional Requirement:

  • 3 years or more experience in Microsoft Power BI is required. Other visual reporting tool experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming is required. In addition, mastery of skills below is also preferred.

  • Python
  • Microsoft Visual Basic

Educational Qualification: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field is required. An advanced degree in quantitative field is preferred.

Job duties:

  • Managing and improving Credit Card operational performance and strategy through advanced analytics of portfolio performance and risk trends.
  • Perform detailed analysis to understand key drivers of acquisition and portfolio performance and identify opportunities to optimize strategy
  • Work with partner teams to understand impact of upstream processes and implement strategy changes, and assess impact of changes to performance expectations
  • Present analysis and proposed strategic actions to leadership and key stakeholders
  • Collaboratively work with business and operations partners to ensure alignment with Ally Credit Card’s strategic imperatives

Professional Requirement:

 

  • 3 or more  years of experience in analytics and knowledge of financial industry. Prefer experience in a similar role focused on data/statistical analysis in Credit Card industry
  • Candidate should possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; should be a critical thinker with strong attention to detail
  • A solid understanding and proficiency in data analytics skills, such as SQL, python, R, or similar tools for data analysis and portfolio segmentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present proposals and vision to executive leadership
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative working environment with partners across job functions and experience levels such as tech, Compliance, Legal, and Operations
  • Knowledge of statistics and quantitative models preferred
